Salaam India Expo, August 13-17, 2008

The Second Zak Salaam India Expo will be held at the Singapore Expo from August 13-17, 2008 featuring companies showcasing products and services in 12 different broad categories. This multi-faceted event aims to "Celebrate the best of India."
This event can be seen as 12 different tradeshows [see below for details] held concurrently under one roof, and aims to present Indian products, services and companies to buyers from Singapore and ASEAN.
A seminar, Opportunity India, the India Focus Conclave, will also be held on August 14, 2008.

Singapore International Jewellery Show 2008, August 21-24, 2008

The Singapore International Jewellery Show (SIJS) 2008, the 4th edition of the International Jewellery, Gems & Accessories Exhibition, will be held at the Suntec Singapore from August 21-24, 2008. One of the most comprehensive jewellery, gems and accessories exhibition in South East Asia, will be organized on Level 4 of the exhibition venue in Halls 403-404.
This year, the show will celebrate the works of Parisian artist Thomas Diego Armonia. In keeping with the theme of Jewels in Art for this year's event, the novelty will be some glorious black and white oil paintings embellished with gold and precious gem stones that will be seen in Singapore for the first time.
SIJS is the ideal jewellery event for jewellery lovers and those in the jewellery business. Exhibits at the event will include: diamond jewellery, platinum jewellery;24k fine gold jewellery; gem set jewellery; silver jewellery; antique jewellery; pearl jewellery; jeweled timepieces; South sea, cultured & fresh water pearls; diamonds; semi-precious coloured gemstones; jewellery mountings; jewellery carvings; display ornaments; jewellery display & packaging materials; and, jewellery machinery, tools & equipment.
Seminars by internationally-renowned diamond expert
During the event, seminars will be organized by world renowned diamond expert, Martin Rapaport. The seminar will be delivered in two sessions: on August 21, "The State of the Diamond Industry" will be discussed, while in Session 2 on August 22, the seminar topic will be: "Commodization and the Internet: Impact on the Diamond Trade".
Fees for attending the seminar is SG$215 for both sessions. Registration forms for the seminar can be downloaded here. The event is targeted at professionals in the diamond industry, including diamond suppliers, retailers and consumers. Others with an interest in the diamond industry such as investors, commodity traders, bankers/financial community and government regulators will also find the seminar useful.
SIJS is jointly organized by the Conference & Exhibition Management Services Pte Ltd (CEMS) and Singapore International Jewellers (Pte) Ltd (SIJ).
