The Singapore Garden Festival, premier international garden & flower show, will be held from 25 July to August 1, 2008 at the Suntec City Convention Centre (10 am-10 pm). The week-long event, organized by the National Parks Board, will see some of the world's top garden and floral designers gather in this Garden City.

The previous edition of the event in 20006, attended by more than 200000 visitors, was commended by international horticultural experts and established it as a highly rated garden and flower show in the tropics.

Among the highlights & chief attractions at the Singapore Garden Festival 2008 (SGF) are:
* Landscape & Fantasy Gardens, that feature creations by top award-winning garden designers
* Floral Windows to the World, which will feature vibrant cut-flower displays
* Singapore Orchid Show, showcasing the rich and diverse heritage of orchids in Southeast Asia

For trade visitors, there is the three day Singapore Garden Festival Expo, an international exhibition and conference that will feature world-renowned horticulture and landscape experts.

Training Vision is organizing a half-day seminar on Human Capital: Human Capital Development Solutions through a competency-based Software System.

The inaugural Social Emotional Learning Conference with the theme, Soft Landings in Hard Places, will be held at the NUS High School Auditorium on July 10-11, 2008.

The conference is targeted at schools and those in the education sector in Singapore and will cover information need, curriculum and program design/development & practical implementation issues with Emotional Intelligence & Social Emotional Learning (SEL). The forum is designed to help those in education to know about the evolution of SEL & current methodologies and practices, learning aids and tools, and best practices.

Speakers at the event will include Dr. Anabel Jensen, President of Six Seconds and a Professor in Education; Mark Sng, a life and career coach and Ian Poulier, a full-time school counselor.

A pioneer in emotional intelligence education, Dr. Jensen has won the Federal Blue Ribbon winner for excellence in education. She is responsible for developing the Self-Science curriculum featured in Daniel Goldman’s book Emotional Intelligence (1995)
